Lawrance is built on the foundation of Trust, Respect and Responsibility. Our policies are based on ethical treatment of each and every employee and always strive to foster a safe and healthy work environment for our people. Over the past decade and a half, as the company has grown, so has our commitment to doing our own part in keeping our manufacturing facilities environment friendly. We believe sustainable is the only way to go for the present and for the future generations to come
SUSTAINABILITY
Lawrance acknowledges the effect of polution and recognizes the seriousness of climate change and its impact on our planet . There is a growing need for manufacturers to become sustainable to ensure the protection of our environment from further damages. We are proud to say that we are one of the first companies to have the OEKO- TEX Standard 100 and 1000( STEP ) certification as our drive for safer products and sustainable processes . This certification body checked and declared we have environmentally-friendly and socialy-acceptable products and production sites in accordance with OEKO - TEX . It expresses Lawrance's sense of purpose in relation to environmentl protection issues. The scope covered by the certificate includes chemical, environmental performance and management, social responsibility, quality and safety.
On 2017, we have completed our project to use 100% natural gas as power generation for our production facilities . All previous coal boilers have been replaced with natural gas powered boilers. This project to use natural gas instead of coal powered ones ensures we have clean energy resource and considerably lessen greenhouse gasses emission and carbon footprint. Our company also has a Licensed Wastewater Treatment plant . A government appointed third party testing company is doing a monthly screening of our odor and noise emission to make sure we are on safe standard level . Aside from that , our company has installed the automatic pollutant emission data check which automatically transfers our data to the government platform to regularly monitor our plant safety performance . An environmental committee comprised of 12 employees is formed to make sure our in-house facilities are up to standard.
FOCUS ON EMPLOYEES
We believe that Human Capital is the heart of our business and the employees' well-being is of vital importance to the company. We strive to foster an Open Work Environment and encourage our workers to share ideas for improvement and voice out any concerns. Our Chairman's Open Letter to All Employees ( in English and Chinese Language ) is posted where employees can easily view them. On this letter, he encourages our employees to connect with him should any grievance or issues arise and ensure the issues will be addressed in timely manner and fair proceedings. Respect, responsibility and trust are the key principles we promote across our entire workforce. We also show our gratitude and appreciation to our employees' hard work and dedication by giving them monetary incentives such as service awards and festival gifts on Mid Autumn and Chinese New Year celebrations.
HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK
Lawrance strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment conducive to work . Our facilities comply with local and international standards such as BSCI and GB/T 19001-2016/ISO -9001:2015. We provide health Insurance to our employees as well as free physical examination. Our employees are also given monthly supply of hygiene products containing daily hygiene essentials such as hand soap, detergent , and tissue and face towels to promote sanitary practices. Our local and foreign employees are also given the option to take advantage of our free housing accommodation. Our Chinese migrant workers who stay in-house are provided with free dormitory room (4-person sharing ) with basic necessities such as beds, toilets and bathrooms. They are also given welcoming gifts such as toiletries, eating utensils and beddings. To ensure our workers have a safe and sanitary food to eat, we have a large restaurant which offers different kinds of Chinese fare as wel as a Muslim restaurant that cater Halal food for the benefit of our Muslim workers.
EQUALITY AND FREEDOM
At Lawrance, we promote a culture of equality. We give our workers equal treatment, wages and benefits regardless of their gender. While it's true that about 70% of our employees are women, we strive to give equal work opportunities and promote advocacy of zero tolerance for any discrimination of any kind against our workers. We also believe our workers deserve the basic rights of freedom of expression and religion. Our workers are of cultural diversity and we allow them to practice the religion of their choice . We let our workers celebrate their own beliefs and traditions. Our Muslim workers are free to celebrate their festivals such as Eid and Corban Festival and allow them to hold parties and song and dance engagements on the company premises.
GIVING BACK
Giving back to the community and lending help and support is an initiative close to our hearts. When the 2008 Great Wenchuan earthquake hit the Sichuan Province of China, we extended our help in terms of monetary support. Our company provides assistance to employees in need may they be of financial or emotional support. Even in small gestures, we encourage our workers to look out and help each other such as extending voluntary fund drives for the benefit of those in need.
